BIRMINGHAM URBAN DECAY SELFRIDGES BLOGGER WORKSHOP

When I heard about this workshop I really wanted to go along, I couldn't go to the last Urban Decay workshop because of work commitments so when I found out this was on my day off I jumped at the chance. Kirsty is the lovely lady who works at the Urban Decay counter in Selfridges and the lady behind these workshops. She wanted this to be a more intimate group so there was about 7-8 of us.

This workshop was all about making your make up last longer so she was showing us a range of primers and fixing sprays.

First of all she showed us the Potion Primers, I have used these before, I use it everyday.  I have the original one which is a natural shade and dries clear on the eye lids. You put this on your lids to prep the skin for you eyeshadow. The Potion Primer makes your eyeshadow last longer and stops your make up from creasing but it also increases the pigment in your eyeshadow which creates a stronger colour payoff. She showed us the whole Potion Primer range including the Anti Aging formula, and the other shades available, Sin and Eden. I actually purchases Sin at the event, it's a gorgeous shimmery pink/gold shade. You could actually wear it on its own but it makes your eyeshadow look amazing!

Next up Kirsty went through the face primers with us, I didn't even know these existed but they sound amazing. There are two different face primers, there's the Complexion Primer Brightening and Tightening and then Pore Perfecting. The Brightening and tightening can be used on all skin types and is a really nice formula. It tightens the skin giving you a smooth base for your foundation.
The pore perfecting formula is more suitable for my skin as I have oilier skin and would need to combat the oil, it also minimizes pores and fine lines. Again the formula is really nice and soft.

We also talked about the Urban Decay Prep Sprays and fixing sprays. These are another product I hadn't heard of before. First up we talked about B6 which is a Vitamin infused complexion prep spray. It's designed to absorb oil and minimize pores. Its a really light spray that feels good on your skin. Its full of vitamins and antioxidants. It also reduces redness which is amazing for me as I normally have allergic reactions (i'm allergic to my cats) so this calms my skin down and stops the irritation. You can use it to refresh your make up.

The All Nighter fixing spray is another product we talked about, apparently this was sold out for quite a while but its back! It does what it says on the bottle really. You spray it onto your face and it stops your make up from sliding off. It lasts for 16 hours which is amazing! It creates smoother looking skin and keeps your make up fresh from day to night. There's also another fixing spray available,  De Slick Setting Spray which again is a version for oily skin. It controls oil and deflects surface shine to keep the skin looking matte. This version would be more suitable for someone like myself who would need to control the oil on your face. De Slick still has a 10 hour lasting time which is amazing, It would keep your skin looking fresh all day. The sprays all come in a handy travel size as well so you can keep it in your bag so you can touch up as and when you need.

All the products i've mentioned are available at the Urban Decay counter in Selfridges and on the Urban Decay website.
